Project Information

I am happy to present my first major project for opinions and critiques. I built this entirely out of heat treated pallet pinewood. The only power tools I had at the time were a handheld mitre saw, a sander and a drill. I was going to attempt a solid countertop but decided not to until I acquire a table saw.

The table took me around six months to build at a very leisurely pace. I sanded it and finished it with two coats of danish oil. The inserts are pressed heavy duty foil (I used disposable baking pans) finished with acrylic. I went for art deco designs - Machintosh rose, iris and daisy.

Thank you for looking. I am hoping to post my next one soon.

It always amazed me looking at the items made from (most of the time) free pallet wood. You table stands out in my mind. Sometimes having a shop full of costly tools doesn't make the project any better looking

Very nice design. Sometimes when I see pallet wood projects, I think, "well just because it's pallet wood, doesn't mean you don't have think about design and aesthetics". You obvious did! You did a great job!
Thanks for sharing that.
