First Adirondack of the year

I’m a little surprised myself. I mean here it is half way through August already and I finished my first Adirondack chair of the year just this past Friday. Of course if it wasn’t for the deadline provided by the person with the money in hand, it wouldn’t have been as soon as that!

This time around, knowing that I’m going to make more chairs before the end of Summer, I put together a couple of jigs to make some of the process a little easier. I also used wooden plugs to hide the would be visible screws. I like how that came out.

I made a pair of chairs, both of pine. The person that received them is going to paint them themselves.

Darryl, the chair is a masterpiece. Putting wooden plugs certainly adds to the general look of the chair. Why don’t you give a detail plan and how you did it so that we can try our hand on making one. A superb work.

Love adirondacks. Made 3 sets myself in the last 2 years. I like using plugs on the screws as well.

Sharad, I got the plans for this chair from a magazine subscription that my father has purchased for me since I’ve shown an interest in woodworking. The plans can be found here.
I like this design, it’s a pretty comfortable seat and it’s easy to get into and out of.
