I built this cherry liquor chest for my father in law for Christmas. The rough stock was planed smooth with an electric planer but I joined the boards and laid out and cut the dovetails by hand. I laid out the sides so the top could be ripped off and still have an equal half pin at each edge. All surfaces were smoothed with my Lie Nielsen 4 1/2. Te finish was analine dye, stain and two coats of clear Danish oil. Fun project to build!

Nice. I like the dovetails but they look quite challenging. I use a lot of analine dye also especially with the lighter woods like maple and pecan. Nice stuff and quite forgiving.
