In my continuing quest to get my saw dust under control, I built this little fitting. This is based on a tip sent into Fine Woodworking and published in the annual tools and shops edition. This was the simplest dust collection solution I have seen for a bandsaw, and it works great! I notched the elbow so it fit around the guide blocks, and got the suction closer to directly under the table, where all the saw dust comes pouring out.
Total cost was $1.33 for some plumbing parts and hardware from my local Habitat for Humanity Restore. Love that place.
Next up: dust collection for the table saw and router table!
