Some of you may have heard of Paul Schurch, a California marquetry expert.
www.schurchwoodwork.com for a look at his work.
He also travels around the States giving weeklong hands-on seminars.
These fotos show two of my projects from that course.
While I can see all the flaws my wife has them hung on our walls.

Real nice.
It looks a lot harder than carving.

Very nice. I’ve done some marquetry (self-taught from a book) and it’s very time intensive. I’m planning to take a class lin the future.

Great work!

That stuff is really beautiful. I wish I had the patience for it. Nice job.

C’mon Mike. I’ve looked at your bowls.
I started to turn a bowl about 15 years ago. It’s still on the faceplate.

How ya doin’?

Lee,

I just found this in Pulse. I had no idea Schurch did seminars. I’ve always admired his ribbon tables and anything else of his I’ve seen. Getting a chance to study with him had to have been a great experience. He is the master. These are very well done. We should see more of this from you. don’t hide your light under a bushel.
