I was commissioned to build this musicians work station desk. It is basically pretty simple except for the black paint.
The features that make it ideal are that it has a wire tray toward the back of the desk underneath the top to conceal wires and have a support system for the wires. There are many wire ports located in strategic locations to get the wires to the tray. Also because it is so big I designed it so the top comes off to move it.

It has 2 simple doors with flat panels and a pull out drawer for the keyboard.
It has a black laminate top with a very slight texture . He wanted soft round corners on the laminate so I used a round over bit then had to smooth out the edge almost like car body work so you could not see the edge of the laminate. Then when I spray painted it, ( small airless ) I covered the edge with paint right up to the upper edge of the round over so it looks uniform and smooth like its all one piece.

Like I said it was pretty basic and simple but the black paint was a challenge.

Sleek desk! Great design and well executed, like the black finish which gives a modern look. Great job!

Very nice. I was thinking of building something similar. How heavy do the slides need to be to support a musician banging away on them ?

Also, I see a monitor – where would he use a mouse and computer keyboard ?

Again – nice !
