Dog House

Well our dog needed a dog house. I had made one for my in-laws’ dog last summer and this one has a similar design. I took the measurements from her crate to make sure she had enough space to turn around in. The floor has two sheets of polystyrene sandwiched between plywood for a bit of extra warmth in winter. The rest is 2×3s. I know the “framing” is a bit excessive, but I know it’ll last. Made some white trim pieces to tidy it up a bit and voila!

Sorry my photos are sideways. Not sure how to remedy that.

Beautiful home for the dog, you could put a door
swinging with hinges at the top, so ‘that the dog can come and go and being more repaired from the weather.

What a great dog house and I see the dog had to inspect it during the building of it….great job.

Good move on the insulation! My son put the door of his Lab’s doghouse of center so he could curl up in the corner, out of the wind. You might also hang a heavy piece of canvas over the door.

It looks great and well crafted. Sturdy design, I’m sure it will last long for him to enjoy. Great job!
