Its not quite finished yet but could stay as it is. Camphor Laurel is regarded at an invasive exotic here but makes good treen and furniture. This one was threatening my power lines and had to go so I am putting it to some use and decided to try out some of my power carving tools on a short log. I must say it is a lot more work than turning a bowl but gives a nice chance to follow the wood and you may see the small creature head that popped out at me near the end.A christmas gift for the sister-in-law who is hosting the dinner this year.

A beautifully done tote-tray. Love the design. Nice job.

I really like the design. Im sure its ALOT more work than most would think, that goes into a creation like this. Im sure your Sister n law will cherish it, and hope the creature is gone by then LOL Great job

Im loving this. Has it cracked much since you carved it?

Yes there are some early hairline cracks appearing but as long as it holds together I don’t see it as a problem in this sort of piece ?

Cool tray! Interesting wood and like the raw look of the carving. I will be much appreciated.
