This is the first. project that I have made using someone elses plans. The plans came from the July 18,2008 issue of Wood magazine. It was a bunch of fun to make and I think that I will use walnut and maple together in more projects now that I know just how good they look. The pics are not the best but hopefully you will be able to see what I mean. The wife was very pleased with the shelf and already has it full of family pics. All comments are welcome.

It does look great, I have a cheep copy from Lowes in my hot tub room. This makes me feel like I really cheated.

Looks good. I may have to give this one a try. I like the contrasting wood too.

Great project. I think this would really look good in the house. Good choice of wood.
