Hope chest/filing cabinet

My first official wood project. The left side is for files and two three ring binders. The right is for extra storage of any kind. I also included a removable/slidable tray for extra junk.

I really like that. Did you work from plans (that might be available someplace) or is that your own design?

A little bit of both. I got the initial idea from pinterest (I believe Martha Stewart had one out there but the entire inside is designed for hanging folders). I then found dimensions for a very simple “box” and started tweaking from there. The idea behind all of this was to add a bit more storage in our room and also be able to file our documents without having ta bulky, ugly looking filing cabinet. Plus, my wife was getting tired of all my “junk” laying around, hence the removable storage box :).
