I am taking a few baby steps with turning bowls and boxes now. This is my first bowl out of a piece of bocote. Its a very simple design, but the grain and color were so gorgeous that I really didn’t want to do anything to distract from it.

Great job turning out your first bowl. You should be proud. Keep turning similar shapes at first, trying to get thinner each time. I have found it helpful to introduce new design elements a little at a time and move on after I’ve mastered a technique. Keep on turning. Thanks for sharing.
