This paddle was a commissioned piece from a wonderful customer in New Mexico.
This is intended to be used as a Holiday gift – which means it will make two people happy!
The paddle is solid white oak and measures around 44 inches long by 3 1/2 inches wide at the paddle end. It’s a tad over an inch thick.
I used my CNC Router to do the carving work in the handle and the “Zia” Emblem and my scrollsaw to slowly cut out the hops flowers in the paddle area.
I think this is one of my favorite paddles I’ve made – The cutouts, the emblem and the lettering all seem to balance and compliment each other.
The finish on this paddle is 100% food-grade mineral oil – beer safe!
