Pretty straight forward here, Vinyl lettering on a scrap piece of 120 yr old oak. Some of the stuff I brought home from the site has pieces or parts that are pretty nasty, but I can’t get over this grain… so I gotta try to find ways of using it.

To accentuate the grain, I went back and cut out parts of the letters with an X-acto knife after I applied the stencil, which also gave it a more rustic feel. finished with 3 coats of poly, eyehooks were added to the top with a piece of twine for hanging it up.

Thanks for looking!

Fantastic piece.

You have a very good eye for matching subject to your “canvas”.

Good touch as well using the X-acto – the perfect final touch!

Thanks for sharing this.

Love the sign,
Good looking grain on that old slab.
Nice X-acto knife work also! Makes a huge difference!
I can hear them singing those word in my head now! They will most likely stay in my head all day! :)
