This started out as something to shield the clutter on my desk. That was several months ago. The idea of making a Roll Top desk came into play and I went off the deep end to make one er two. Now remember, I am a toy maker, not a furniture builder. We also did not want the desk to be tall so I had to remake all the dimensions from another desk to fit. #1 is the results of the start of this build. #2 is the second build, Hay after seeing mine my wife wanted one too! [no finish on this one yet] #4 – #5 are construction pictures. I am glad this is nearly done. It certainly had an impact on my Christmas building.

I Just got an email asking if I built the “whole” desk. NO, The school masters “desk” part we bought at an auction and refinished many years ago. I just added the “roll top” part to them. Sorry for the confusion. Hay the top was bad enough for me to build!!!!

well these these are good pictures sorta, man ive waited a long time to see your desk, and you didn’t take a picture of the finished desk from the front, so we cant see the finished roll top at all…and i can tell from the construction pictures that is turned out great, so maybe you can slip another picture of the front into the comments section….:)...please…..and just as a suggestion, the very first picture you post is the first picture shown, my way of thinking is that you would show the front of the desk with the really cool roll top you made first….just my 2 cents here, you did a great job doug…i love the desk…it certainly fits in to your decor , what a great room, wood everywhere.

It is a big man toy. For sure it took you very long to see it as it is. Well done.
