A few months ago,I had an antique shop owner-Customer of mine, who brought me a very old bench to repair and refinish.I liked the design,So I decided to lay It out and trace the pattern on some scrap Poplar then ran it out on a band saw, mortised and glued it up Made a nice display,Since then I have made 9 red oak versions
and 12 paint grade versions, everyone loves this bench,(Note The legs are narrow 7/8 thick so a decent hardwood),Is best for the legs, the rest is fine for any species of wood,I have been using alder, oak, and maple
boards for the legs,

Nice looking bench. I like the finish on the one you have posted. It has a n old look to it which suits the design quite well.
