I took flowers from my sister-in-laws wedding and pressed them. I also took a ton of her roses. I took the extra roses rmoved the petals, cut up soaked them in water and rubbing alcohol for many months. I then removed the petals and saved the liquid for a stain. I then laid out the project on the computer and got the wedding font. I then laid the project on some nice pine. I scroll sawed the lettering. I got my husband to router the edges for me. Then I stained the project with 3 layers of stain and two coats of clear. Laid out the pressed flowers on some satin backing and hot glued into place. I then assembled the whole project. What the bride really liked was that the flowers were from her wedding and the stain was made from the extra flowers. This project was not difficult but did take some planning, like pressing flowers and creating ones own stain.

Welcome to LumberJocks. That’s a wonderful gift idea. Such personal gifts are so thoughtful. I love the font you used for your scroll-sawing.
