This is a Blackthorn Shillelagh walking stick and Briar pipe set I made for my friend’s fiancĂ©. The Shillelagh has a Briar wood top, Natural Blackthorn shank and copper plated collar. I also included a copper plated Scottish Shilling badge. I finished the stick with Danish Oil and Gun Stock finish. The pipe is made of Briar with a vulcanite stem. It has been rusticated and dyed and buffed with Tripoli Compound and Carnauba wax. This is actually my first attempt at a Briar pipe and it was a blast to do. The pipe box is Sassafras and Apple and is finished the same as the Shillelagh. I messed about with the collar and Shilling and got the Copper look by accident but now I have a secret recipe for copper plating. This project was an absolute pleasure to do. Thanks for taking a look!

Elegant pieces! Beautiful wood combo and great finish. I’m sure they are well appreciated. Great job!
