If a Tansu bedheads existed, I imagine they would look like this.
The panels are power and hand planed to shape, then freehand carved with a router.
Thinned white paint, then oiled. The true color only shows in the first photo.

The panels are Oregon ( Doug. Fir ), the frame is a mystery Red Hardwood ( a Eucalyptus )

I like the way it appears to have a diagonal fold. Interesting to look at.
