OK this is an attempt at a vase. So far so good I think for the first full size vase?? The center is hollowed out about 9” deep roughly 2 1/8” in diameter. The outside – well I just spun it until I didn’t feel like spinning it anymore and made a cool abstract shape.

Now I just need to find an insert to make it able to hold water. A piece of PVC or pipe with a cap on it, glass tube. IDK yet.

I have plans for more vases, but I need to find the right pieces to make it work. Pending some shipments from one of our suppliers – all sorts of fun secrete locations and hunting/gathering missions to find the perfect burls! All I can say is there’s some really fun (scary) times ahead with the lathe spinning some objects that really shouldn’t be rotated at a high RPM let alone stabbed with sharpened metal spikes while this twirling is in progress.

Kind of a Natural form. I like it.

This one kinda fascinates me … I have another piece I think I can do something similar with and some more pending shipment that will be really interesting to play with.

Gorgeous bowl! Like the stunning wood colors and awesome shape, looks like an art sculpture. Great job!

Waiting on some more material still – we have some prospects pending but now the lathe is down! Sheared the main spindle right off it. Guess this stuff took its toll … amazing how harsh this stuff can be!

OK It’s official – we have kickstarted a campaign on Kickstarter … we need a new lathe and apparently this is a method to get some funding. Read the details, we’re offering a generous rewards system that basically is pre-selling our bowls, vases, and vessels in order to fund the purchase of a new lathe.

Please help us out if you can by sharing this link wherever you can – and of course if you want a bowl please sponsor (back) our campaign! – Thank you!
