I made this cradle this spring for our first child, Brooklyn. It’s a combination of mahogany and oak. The cradle took about 20 hours to build and 100 hours to sand and finish. It was a really fun and rewarding project, plus it gave me an excuse to get away from my pregnant wife when she was grouchy.

Gorgeous crib that is destined to be an heirloom. Thanks for sharing Ryan.

Nice job, Ryan. Congrats on your first child. How old are they now?

Very nice cradle. Brooklyn seems to like it too.

I’m surprised that you needed an excuse. My wife calls my shop the break room. When she gets on my nevers, I need a break so out I go.

My woodworking projects keep us sane. Brooklyn is our only child and she only likes the cradle when she’s sleeping. I should have built a rocking chair and a cradle.
