She wanted just a quick -n- dirty hanger for her necklaces and jewelry. “Just something to hang on the wall” she said. Well I wasn’t about to have a plain flat board with dowels in it on my wall so this is what I came up with. It’s an adaptation of a coat hanger that I posted here http://lumberjocks.com/projects/92158 a few weeks ago only on a smaller scale. The button in the center is Claro Walnut?? Is that right? I’ve never worked with it before. It was just a scrubby nasty block of wood with cracks in it, I almost threw it away. But then I started turning it and it was quite a surprise. The arms are hickory, finished only with shellac.
So now I have to figure out how to wrap it up.
Thanks for looking, and Merry Christmas.
