I made a new inlay banding for the small boxes that I build.
It’s made of Cherry,Maple and Walnut.
The finished inlay is 3/64” thick by 1/2” wide.
It needs some some adjustments but I am happy for my first try.

Looks nice, Keith.

Is this the new “secret” banding you mentioned to me at the last MMWG meeting?

Hey Russ,
It looks like I spoiled the surprise. Sorry.
I know you were laying awake at night wondering. )

Looks great Keith. Do I see some end grain mixed in the “secret” formula?

Good eye Gary.
The next batch will have more long grain. I like the pattern of the end grain but the glue can come up through the banding if I add to much.

Whew! Now that the secret is out in the open I can once again sleep peacefully.

These really are beautiful, Keith. Thanks for disclosing your secret for the rest of us to enjoy.

Have your say...
