Well, not really, that’s what my Grandsons thought. Actually I have made a lot of cutting boards & no-one wants to use them for the intended purpose. They want to hang them on the wall??? or prop them up on the kitchen counter. After seeing different versions of cutting board stands on LJ & a little trial & error I came up with this design. I start with 2 3/4” thick boards 2X5 inches, with a 1/8th strip for accent laminated in between them, I used a French curve template for the radius & used a 7 degree angle for the board cut out. The version shown is Cherry w Black Walnut for the center accent color. Photo #5 is my first prototype…...too big & to much angle for the cut out….......photo #6…...too small & still to much cut out angle…...........Jack

Very cool and I really like the cutting board pictured also. Is that a Chevy logo?

When I was in middle school some 45 years ago I made some cutting boards in woodshop at school. One hung on my Grandmothers wall until the day she died.

Very nice design looks very familiar. I found for me, experimenting with the angles starting at 5 to 12 that 12 degrees was the best angle to display my board.

Have your say...
