I was commissioned to make this piece. It was my first attempt at steam bending…what a blast. The console is constructed of solid cherry and ash with a birch ply backer. Finished with Danish oil and paste wax.

Did you bend the parts first and make the cabinet to fit the
curve you got?

Great looking cabinet, fantastic build. The steam bending came out great, one sweet cabinet.

Beautiful looking console, I love the way you used sapwood on the drawer.

A great looking piece! The curved front/doors make this a very unique console. I love the slatted doors as well.

Thank you everyone for all your comments, they are greatly appreciated!

Loren- I did steam bend the radius parts first just in case there was a significant change in curve from my jig and layout drawing. Incredibly they came out almost exactly to my layout.
