My wife has always wanted to buy a canoe bookshelf so I built one for Christmas. It is 5.5’ tall and made out of red oak. I lined the shelf seems with old rope to give it a rustic look. I hope to build another one this winter.

Nice shelf, I made one of those a few years ago. I never thought of lining the seams with rope, cleaver idea.
