I guess I’m in a box making mode. The wood is bubinga and I made the box with through dovetails. The top I made with my cnc machine. A friend at work asked me to make this for his son who is joining the Marines next year. I gladly wanted to do this for him. Thanks for looking!

This is a wonderful box and I think that every marine would love to have one.

Great looking box. My brother retired from the Marines after 20+ years.

Nice Project and post Thanks for sharing…. I can easily see a CNC in my future for sure…. Just a tip if you cover the whole bottom in material prior to putting the box together the material ends up in the rabbit or rebated groove and is a lot less hassle to install….

Major UH RAH!!!! If you have a way to reproduce with the same quality, I can guarantee a captive market! Every Marine I know would buy this box. Don’t know what the market price would be but, I’m guessing somewhere around $300 per box. Great piece!

Semper Fi!
My dad was a Marine, in WW2 fought in Pelliu and guda Canal – two of the bloodiest battles the marines have ever seen. True to the end, he dies on the Marine Corps b’day 11/10/2008

My son was in the corp for 5 years too.

Beautiful work.
