This was something the better half put on my to do list a long time ago and I just finally got around to making. I used box joints for the main compartment and cut them cross grain instead of with the grain? Which is not something I will do again if I can avoid it. Made from white oak and finished with Danish oil. I used kabob skewers to hold the knives on top and cut individual slots to hold the steak knives below.

Nice knife holder and a unique way of holding the bigger knives in place. Great idea and a novel one too.
