Fairy Door #5: The Sunflower

The Fairies have brought their neighbours—and they have moved into the flower gardens!

I found this sunflower this morning hanging on the old dead tree in one of the flower beds.

Wood: poplar
Door Handle: an earring: sunflower with sunglasses on.

Learning Curve
Isn’t it interesting how you can trace an edge, cut out the adjoining piece of wood and they don’t match! Argh.
Got it close though; the next one will be better, I’m sure.

Hello Ms. Debbie;

I see your cat knows they’re in there!

Nice job.

Hi Debbie!

I like it!

It looks like you’ve taken a first step into the realm of carving.

The only fault I can see is, the flower stem is a little bit hefty.<;O)

Ted; No, they didn’t use the new tools…. I didn’t have them out of the package yet. I can’t wait to see the next sunflower door—it will definitely be made with the new tools and then I can see the difference!

John: 100 hahaha that’s funny. You sure you ONLY have 100 cats/??

Christina: yah, that cat picture is great. She just popped into the camera range and looked up as I was taking the picture—totally luck on that picture. But definitely great!! Maybe she heard the fairies.

Scott: this is your favourite?? It’s definitely sunny but there’s lots of improvements to be made on the next one for sure.

Thanks everyone :)

Nice work of art….I paid a guy to get the tall grass and weeds around my shop the other day, there was one wild sunflower on the side of my shop already 4 feet tall growing out of roadbase and gravel, I told him to leave it there..
