Thought I’d try a wine rack for a change. Got the plans from Wood magazine. Each project seems to bring its own challenges….after completing the project and tried to insert the bottles, discovered that I had used a 1 1/8” drill bit instead of a 1 1/4”......duh!! Will have to get my glasses adjusted. But luckily, I was able to save the project from the scrap bin. Now all I have to do is figure out who will get it for Christmas…...

Being Santa is turning into a full time job! :)

Looks good! I saw it in the recent issue too and you did an outstanding job of making it!

Question for you – did you try it out upside down? So that the bottles are angled down instead of hanging out? I like the look of this, but wine should be stored with moisture towards the corks and I worried about the bottles pulling out

LoganN…..

Can work either way, hole edges are rounded on both sides. Not to worry, the bottles will not fall out, their weight holds them in place. I agree with you re keeping the corks moist but nowadays, most bottles come with screw on lids and besides, I don’t think the corks would have time to dry out before the wine got “consumed!” The plans call for it to be fastened to a wall with screws…..I think the unit will look nice just being on the floor.
