My first end grain cutting board. I used a mixture of white oak, cherry, black walnut and honduran mahogany to make this. It has button tabs on the end to keep ity off the couter-top, finished in 3 coats of mineral oil. I made this project for my wife, it has seen lots of use thankfully.
The second cutting board was made using long grain mostly just as an experiment to see how it would hold up. This one is made from honduran mahogany and black walnut veneer scraps. Also finished in a few coats of mineral oil. THis one has mostly been used for bread and cheese. Barely gets used but has held up better than I imagined.
Made both of these with table saw, miter saw and a planer. Finished with lots ot touch up hand sanding,
