Project Information

I was in the shop a while ago and i was cleaning up and i came across 2 mirrors, i was wondering what to do with them and i really didn't want to just put a simple frame around them so i kept thinking. Then i came up with this, honestly i was a little skeptical about the idea at first, but all in all it came out good. So like i said i started out with two mirrors, one of them i smashed into pieces(by sticking in into a bag first so i wouldn't get glass everywhere, then i just hit it with my hammer a number of times.) I had some Masonite that i had grabbed off the back of an old tv, i painted it black and then attached everything to it using a 2-part epoxy. i used half lapped joints on the outside frame and i also had to cut a rabbet out around the inside of the frame so the Masonite would be held inside of the frame, i the took some Popsicle sticks and used them to hold everything in place. (see picture below)

So this project ended up costing nothing because it was made of all reused stuff(pallet wood, mirrors that have been in my shop for along time, and some hardware that was given to me years ago)
I have this hanging in my bedroom and it really make the room look good. It measures 36-1/4'' wide x 26-1/2'' tall
being my first project using pallet wood and half lapped joints this thing looks really cool. :)
