A few of the boxes I had at the show I did Sunday (see blog post). The first one- yes, it is lightly stained, sorry guys, but the grain just pops when you use a little stain. It was actually Light Walnut Watco. The rest of the boxes were plain Watco, all got wax over that.
The moose is proving popular, I sold him first, and have an order for a second. Just a little scroll saw thing I found with google images.
the last box, is walnut strips glued into a piece of maple. Cut the maple with a gentle curve on the scroll saw, wet down the walnut with hot water, glued and clamped. Only did one curve per day. Plenty of people commented on it, but no one bought it!
The other one I sold, of these 5, is the second, with the 4 crazy inlays. I think the guy bought it because I could honestly tell him it was my personal favorite, of the boxes I had there. Proportions were right, for once. My worksmanship was very good on that one. And the colors work well.
The last post is a star ornament, wondered if y’all think it is nice enough for the LJ ornament swap! (Maybe I should stick two in a padded envelope-).
