This box holds cards and envelopes, and was made out of basically a random selection of woods. The sides are made from re-sawn 2×4, because that’s what I have, and is inexpensive enough to play with, thelid panel and feet are from poplar scraps, the lid frame comes from a strip of purpleheart that a friend gave me, (thanks, Dan!), and the splines are African blackwood.

The design wasn’t really intended to be Asian, I was just kind of building as I went, and this is what it came out as. On the plus side, my wife will actually allow it to be seen in our house. Winning!

It’s lovely, like the attractive wood combo and the cool legs. Great work!

Have your say...
