Well it’s been awhile. This small piece from a stump had been kicking around the shop for over a year or so. A fellow member brought it in for me to see if it would be of any use. Well finally a use was found for it and here it is. I really have no idea what kind of wood it is. Another thought I had was to cut it in half, glue the two pieces together and make a bandsaw box. Simpler to make a stool.

I’m glad you decided on the stool, it looks great. Any “before” pictures?
Maybe spalted maple? I also like the plugs – kind of look like really big screws.

It has been awhile so I am glad you are back in the shop. I couldn’t think of a better use for that piece of stump. It turned out great!!
