This was a pretty challenging project that I built last year for my wife. Drawers have a ton of storage area (24”x 25”x 6”) and it gave us a lot more room in our master bedroom.

First time that I had built drawers, and they came out pretty good.

Awesome job! I’m looking to do something very similar. Mind asking approximately how much you spent on materials? I was trying to do an estimate for the same type of piece using oak.

Wow, that looks great. I’d also like to do something similar. Can you tell me how you attached the footboard and headboard? Did you design it yourself or use plans?

sarahss- I used plans that I bought here http://www.knottyplans.com/index.php?page=100397.

Headboard and footboard are screwed to the main body of the bed.

Looks great and well made. Like the design especially the drawers. I bet the wife is happy. Great job!
