This is a rolling cabinet for my basement/laundry room/shop.

A while back I saw an ad on craigslist for free pine lumber. When I got there, there was a ton of wood, but all soaking wet. It was boards from shipping pallets, but no nails and straight 7’ lenghts. So I packed up as much as I could, then stickered it under an awning and let it dry out for a while. Unfortunately, once dry, almost all of it proved to be rotted beyond use. I managed to salvage a few boards that were still solid. These were used for the barn style doors for this cabinet. The rest of the cabinet is 1/2” plywood and some 1X3 pine. Oh and the top was a glue-up pine panel that I had from my old closet.

I really dig some of the colors that came from this half-rotted wood, and the wormholes add some cool character as well.

I think the wood is spruce, but not sure, some type of softwood/pine

Sick cabinets bro! Really nice colors from that reclaimed wood. I love the reclaimed/repurposed stuff.

What kind of finish did you use? Oil and poly?

It looks great, like the barn door style, the hardware and the wheels. Great job!
