This is the second marquetry box that I made over the last week or so.

In this case the marquetry panel features darker walnut veneer background with a walnut burl surround.

This 11.5” X 9×3.5” box is and is made from ½” walnut, features mitred joints with walnut splines. The removable tray is made from oak. It is finished with shellac and then waxed.

Very nicely done—really captures the feeling of midnight and a canine howling at the moon.

That is a spectacular box and you’ve done a fine job on it.
