Project Information
Another box for a leader. Box is constructed of Black Walnut (which contained some amazing figure on the front) and Oak for the lid. I used butt joints and installed cabinet poppers to raise the lid with magnets to hold it in place when they are depressed. The pyrography on top is of an Engineer Soldier we call "Iron Mike" it is from a poster that dates all the way back to WW II. I used carbon paper to transfer the outline than added all the details myself. I was so excited to tackle this because I just updated my cheap weller burner to a New Colwood Detailer unit and I love it . The amount of detail I can incorporate with the new burner is amazing and I plan on writing a review about the tool later. Finish is 3 coats of high gloss Fornsbys Tung Oil. Thanks for looking!!
