Kid's push scooter...

My 5 year old son requested one of the electric scooters for Christmas this year since he sees our neighbors’ kids use them. Since no son of mine will get a self-powered scooter when they have energy to spare I made him this push scooter.

Made from various wood found in the shop but primarily walnut and hickory to create the contrasting patterns.

I found a set of plans for this scooter on the web and modified them slightly to make it a bit more robust. There is also a 1/8” piece of plywood glued to the bottom of the platform to act as a kick-plate and make the connecting arc piece a little better connected/supported to the base.

The wheels came from Vertx Scooters and I found out there is a huge range of wheels, prices and options. Purple is his favorite color so I was glad I was able to find these wheels to incorporate into the scooter.

Really cool wooden scooter! Like old school and it’s way better than store bought ones. Great work!
