I built this for my brother inlaw who just got married about a month ago. It’s a cherry box with walnut and holly inlay. It was hand rubbed with 10 coats of tung oil.

That looks great. Excellent job.

But I do have a question. How do you attach the felt lining? I’ve tried spray on adhesive, but it never seems to work very well. Also, where did you get the felt? That may be my problem, too. Maybe I’m using the wrong kind of material.

It’s not felt. You paint the interior with red paint/glue then use a mini flocker to cover the inside with micro swade. You can get everything at Rockler for $20 or so they have probably 6 or 7 colors

Very nice gift and well crafted! If that is red flocking it must be the camera as it appears maroon. That looks like a speical made lable on the bottle, can you tell us what it says?

That’s a fantastic wedding present. Like the cherry and the inlays are great accents.

Have your say...
