A double set of custom entry doors, a sculpted ash trestle table, and a large oak desk top.
This rustic piece of live oak was cut by a guy locally (De Luz, CA) in about 1940. This man’s son came to me recently and asked me if I would build him a piece of furniture from the wood that his father had cut and saved in return for some choice pieces of his dad’s wood stash. The oak was in bad shape, but we rebuilt it with epoxy fillers and it came out pretty cool and preserved a family legacy.

Can’t wait to see the completed door. Looks like it will have a very Spanish feel to it.
Thanks for the post.

The doors look like they will be a welcoming sight to the front entry of someone’s house.
The oak look great!

Isn’t it great when you get a stash of wood for the price of time. Not only do you get to build stuff, but you get more wood to build more stuff! I would like to see a finished picture of the door if you got one.

I will be posting that table shortly, and I have a couple more in queue . No pics of the arched Fallbrook entry because I cant get out of the shop! I will be posting work we are doing in a fantastic Tuscan villa shortly . Lots of hand-hewn doors and acres of custom millwork——
