All Cedar with little secret

This is an all cedar box with the inside left unfinished. It smells soo good. The box is very colorful with contrasting cedar colors. The top is made with several pieces cut on a slant and spreading from a sharp point to a full spread on the other side, looks like rays. The box body has nice natural cedar stripes running all around the top and center. A mirror is inset into the under side of the top which is stopped with a brass chain. Inside is a lift out divided tray and a divided space under that lined with felt. The little secret is in the base. When you push down on a small brass pin which sets in a small hole thru the box bottom you push down another tray hidden in the base. Good place to hid documents, small jewelry or money. This tray is held in by rare earth magnets. To rehide it just set the box on it and it jumps back in place. I guess most know how I like hidden spaces. Thanks for looking.

Really a sharp looking box. The slanted pieces remind me of the morning sun. Always cool to have those hidden places. Great work.

Great design, great box. Going to have to see if i can make one something like this. Hope you don’t mind me using your idea. I love working with cedar and here in South Carolina we are blessed with cedar.
Going to add this to my favorite.
Thanks for sharing

Really like your box. I’m going to borrow that top idea, with full credit to you for giving the idea. Nice work. I love working with aromatic red cedar

Very nice. Really like how you wrapped the wood around the box, nice grain matching.
Cool secret compartment as well as a very beautiful top too.
