I saw this table in a wood working magazine. I bought a table saw ,router, used bandsaw and a planer. And decided I was gonna build that table. About 2 years later I built it. That was 2 yrs ago. Since then I have made several things and have the BUG BAD. I made the same table larger. I added a picture of it as well since it shows up better. I made a jig to cut the tapers on the legs and made the beading around the drawers and bottom of table as well.

Very nice Shack. The stain and color looks great. It looks like a brand new antiquity (that’s not suppose to sound offensive).

Yap… you got the bug alright.
That’s all it takes… one project that turns out… even o.k. And then you decide that you can do better, and you do. Then you think you can build chairs to go with it, and you do
Then you think that anything that is made out of wood you can build…
Then your friends and family don’t ever see you again except on Sunday where you are spotted going to church to thank God for the table saw and the sticks you found…
Then you find Lumberjocks and your eyes get dark baggy circles under them because the time that you should be getting rest you’re in here looking for more ideas on what you can build next.

I clicked on the pictures before I read your commentary and said “oooh, nice taper on those legs”. Then I read the commentary.
Nice tapers on those legs.
I like the wider proportions of that second redder table on the right, for some reason it looks more “elegant” to me. But both are quite nice!

Thanks everyone I used antique hardware on both. The legs are made of glued up popular and the rest is all cherry that came from a furniture store my brother works at . When a piece comes in damaged he gets the tops are whatever is bad Then I strip and reuse the wood. I have a pretty good supply of it. All free.

Nice Shack. I really like hearing about wood being recycled, especially when it turns into something this beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing.
