The origin of this design is from my kitchen table. The species used is salvaged spruce construction grade lumber. The top, middle, & bottom designs are 2 pieces of 3/4” material laminated together with waterproof glue to prevent chunks from drying out & cracking & falling off. The upper & lower scrolls were formed the same way. Paint is 4 coats of Benjamin Moore Alkyd enamel which has weathered 5 winters & this year I have added another two coats to freshen it up & make it look like new again.
The reason I had to go to this amount of effort is that my wife wanted an arbor but it had to be different hence lattice was a no no.

I like the way you and your wife thinks. That is one of the nicest arbors I have seen. I really like the design. Thanks for sharing Lee.

now that is gorgeous, fascinating, stunning.
Do visitors stand beside it for a long time before they continue on??
