After building one for our daughter, my wife really wanted one too! Had just enough of the 8/4 soft maple left to make this one in a double size. I made the head and footboards higher, wanted some wood to show above the pillows. Been working on it occasionally for 4 months.

I use the index head on my lathe, every 4 th hole will give a total of 12 flutes or beads. A trim router in a shop made holder with either the double bearing flute bit or a beading bit. Available from Lee Valley. I piece of 5/8” melamine bolted to the lathes bed for the router to side on.
Finish is satin lacquer over a dark walnut stain.
