I got busy during Oct and Nov experimenting with different shapes, styles and types of jewelry boxes. laminating some woods of contrasting colors such as maple and purpleheart. or using a single species for the carcase and using different wood for the drawer fronts . Still deciding which style I like the best-i.e. number of drawers (1 to four) ; horizontal or vertical alignments; drawer pulls, finger holes or holes in the back; lined or unlined drawers (felt or suedetex); trying out types and uses of finishes: shellac ,lacquer, various oils. so many out there I haven’t tried yet. fun stuff!
I have found titebond 3 glue to be excellent for laminating large blanks.
I want to thank Lois Ventura for her instructive book. I recommend beginning bandsaw enthusiasts checkout her book-”Building Beautiful Boxes with your bandsaw”. its well worth your time if you are new to using bandsaws.
