I really enjoy making these designs. Obviously selecting which wood to use is most important to the outcome. I favor walnut for its richness but have to say sanding it is no fun-(a fine talc-like dust covers everything). I ONCE AGAIN rushed the sanding process on the top of one of these leaving glue lines undetected until I had stained it.
Dagnabbit! Will I ever learn PATIENCE ? my friend Jim Glynn likes to remind me that “Its not a race”, slow down and enjoy the process !
I used new cloth buffing wheels on these with good results although I’m unconvinced yet that for the final coat using carnauba hard stick wax is better than the softer Briwax (natural beeWax). Whats your experience and opinion?
