This is my 1 lil project since getting back from delivering my Grndsons crib. I know….......These are acrylic, BUT, the base is Walnut… lol. Anyhoo, I made this little base to hold these pens for displaying them, and, with basketball season in swing, here in Kentucky we have 2 rival colleges, UK (University of Kentucky -blue & white), and, U of L (University of Louisville -red & black). A couple of the pens have a stylus end for folks who like to use them with there IPads, etc. The ball is actually a nerf ball that I bought at the Dollar store for 3bux. I only had to paint one side red….....the other was already blue. After cutting the ball in half, I used a piece of pipe (actually a coupler for a 3/8 air hose was the right size for the pens), heated it up to bore the holes into the nerf. Wow, nice and clean cut. Then, super-glued the half onto a nice piece o Walnut scrap with a profiled edge to spiff it up. I think it came out just like I pictured it in my head. Thnx for the looks, & any comments…..good/bad/ugly.. All appreciated. OH, and GO CARDS !!!

I think it is a great piece. Would definitely turn some heads when people see it. Good job!

Eye catching display—that’s thinking like a real marketing pro. Best wishes on selling your pens.

Through the hoops on this one. Cool idea. Always wondered how that acrylic turned.

Damn, that was good thinking to heat up that coupler! I would have been afraid that it would melt the nerfball all over the place. Well done!

Hello Roger

The base is walnut and then the project is made with wood. That’s OK for me

It’s a cool display. You can put another pen in the center.

Thanks for sharing
