I did this shelf for my friend’s and colleague’s parents – they needed some extra storage in the furnace room for small stuff. Made of pine from Home Depot, with shellac finish. One special request was some sort of a guard along the perimeter, so things won’t get easily knocked off. I decided to do this “railing” on little pillars made out of a dowel rod.

When I brought it to install, my friend told me she was not expecting anything that nice, and thought it would be just a couple of boards slapped together. I responded that next time I will try my best to do something crappy… :)

It looks good and well crafted. Like the railings and the finish and lots of storage. Great work!

Have your say...
