any ideas on the species????

Just finished two pens. These represent # 6 and # 7 of the first batch I created with my new lathe. The different species finish amazing and the grain really pops once the finish is applied. Can you guess the species? I have been making the barrels more robust to fit better in larger hands. Once you get the hang of this it only takes about 30-45 minutes to complete.

I would venture to say ball point. They don’t look like any fountain pens I’ve ever seen and definitely not quill pens.

Padauk and mahogany of some sort. Padauk being on the one on the bottom in my opinion.
